My dad sent me this today, and I think it’s awesome: The Vatican has declared the Blues Brothers Movie to be “A Catholic Classic.”
I’m not sure what to think. I love this movie. I used to be Catholic once, before I stopped believing in organized religion. I’m not too thrilled with the Vatican’s position on a lot of things, although I think the Vatican is doing its best to make itself obsolete as quickly as possible, so I’m not too concerned with it, really. I could spend a lot of energy enumerating the things that I dislike about the Church leadership, but we’ve all heard it before, and I’m no longer Catholic, so instead, I’m just going to smile and say “Yes, I also consider Jake and Elwood to be Catholic Heroes.”
